
In the early spring before real growth happens the woods are fairly open and few signs of green appear

Early creatures inhabit the shallow waters of the woodland ponds. I think this beast is a dragonfly larva, but I'm not sure. He sure is strange looking.

That is a really interesting sculpture!! Somehow, I think the birds will get used to it quickly enough.
This morning, I saw a small bird fighting with the rear view mirror of a van. He would fight, then rest, then fight some more. I took pity on him after a bit and moved closer so he could fly away and leave the intruder!
Beautiful photos, as always! That sculpture is an unexpected surprise...very interesting and I imagine seeing it for the first time would make you a double take...lol.
