EARLY SPRING AT SAPSUCKER
In the early spring before real growth happens the woods are fairly open and few signs of green appear
Early creatures inhabit the shallow waters of the woodland ponds. I think this beast is a dragonfly larva, but I'm not sure. He sure is strange looking.

That is a really interesting sculpture!! Somehow, I think the birds will get used to it quickly enough.
This morning, I saw a small bird fighting with the rear view mirror of a van. He would fight, then rest, then fight some more. I took pity on him after a bit and moved closer so he could fly away and leave the intruder!
Beautiful photos, as always! That sculpture is an unexpected surprise...very interesting and I imagine seeing it for the first time would make you a double take...lol.
