OSI: FAREWELLS

GREETINGS SPRING

Sun is warming, water is flowing,
Birds are singing, kine are lowing,
Buds are swelling, greenness growing,
Greetings spring, farewell snowing.

The list seems endless, as do farewells,
Farewells to winter and snow’s repeat.
Often spring encore is followed by more,
More farewells to winter and snow’s repeat.

As tempo quickens and life gets sweet,
Spring’s advances outreach retreat.
Relentless progress ensures defeat.
Farewell to winter and snow’s repeat.

The tempo of this poem reinforces the joy of the words that create a very beautiful image of change and renewal.

This poem is hopeful and joyful...it makes me smile on this cold, dreary day! Beautiful photograph, too... :~)

Everything is blooming and leafing out here in the South. Thanks for reminding me to take a look at winter's farewell.

Cold, gray day with snow layered ground, this one begs me to shout 'farewell, farewell' to winter.

Thank goodness Spring is on the way! "Often...encore is followed by more"- This was nice with the perfect picture.

Lovely, my dear. Usually rhymed words do not fit Haiku but this does just that very nicely. Well done.

Great shot. I really like the reflection in the water too. Must be nice to actually see the changing of the seasons.
